The Foodbank building consisted of construction of a 1500m2 Warehouse, agency, training centre and office that has been designed and constructed by GBSC.
The building comprises of structural steel framing with external face brick and colorbond roof cladding with the inclusions of fibre cement soffits and feature facade cladding.
The main use of the building is a warehouse to service the greater Midwest area, an agency distribution floor to distribute the goods to the people in need. A modern equipped training kitchen, offices and administration for the Geraldton Branch.
The main features include the refrigeration equipment; a cold handling area, cool room and freezer compartments with glazed doors opening onto the agency floor.
A functional reception counter doubling as the agency checkout to maximise staff efficiency.
The Brick, Steel and Timber frame construction of the building has given significant scope for GBSC’s employees to showcase their trade skills through the installation of a range of building products. A clear demonstration of this can be seen in the external face brick which has incorporated 2 contrasting coloured bricks to create a 3D visual effect.
